With the start of the new school year well underway we’re here to help you, with our award ideas for students. Awards shouldn’t just be given out at the end of the school year; students successes should be rewarded throughout the school year. And to help make choosing those awards easier we’re supplying you with a list of award ideas for your students to help brighten up the classroom this school year.
Whether the award is for academics, sports, behaviour, or helpfulness, our list of creative and funny award ideas for students will leave you short of inspiration for motivating your pupils.
- Shing Star Award – recognise an all-around great student with a Shining Star Award.
- Above & Beyond Award – if there is a particular student that always goes above and beyond, whether it’s in the playground or classroom, recognise their get attitude with an Above & Beyond Award.
- Perfect Attendance Award – as the name suggests a Perfect Attendance Award is a great award to recognise commitment.
- Academic Excellence Award – this award is great for recognising talented pupils within each academic area, such as maths, science, drama etc.
- Student of the Month Award – your hard-working students should be acknowledged throughout the year, not just at an end of term or year awards ceremony. A Student of the Month Award is a great way to recognise someone achieving great things right now.
- Enthusiastic Learner – there is a lot to be said about being eager to learn. Academics don’t come naturally to many students, however, being an enthusiastic learner is a great trait to have and it should be rewarded.
- Best “subject” Student – Acknowledge the top student in each academic area. For example, Best History Student, Best Art Student, Best IT Student etc.
- Helping Hand Award – There’s always that student that is more than happy to lend a hand.
- Most “adjective” Student – Great for recognising students who aren’t necessarily at the top, but not to say they didn’t work hard. For example, most improved, creative, responsible, valued etc.
- Rising Star Award – Recognise a student who is showing growing potential within a subject matter.
Remember, that when it comes to awarding your students, sometimes the best awards can be the simplest ones. Simply acknowledging a student in a class is a great way to boost self-esteem and confidence. However, if you really want to shine a light on a star student then awarding them with a trophy or award that they can cherish forever is a truly special way to recognise a star pupil.
